Every Thursday, as usual we are busy with Physiotherapy services to children and adults with disabilities in East Bali (Tianyar and Ban Villages) through our YPK Mobile Clinic programme in collaboration with Yayasan Peduli Kemanusiaan (YPK Bali). Since 2012 the YPK Physiotherapy Mobile Clinic Program is the only physiotherapy service that provides free services in East Bali (Ban, Tianyar).
Last Thursday, 20th April 2023, we provided services to 14 clients (12 adults and 2 children), by two YPK therapists, with EBPP’s PIC collecting data and recording clients, supported by YPK’s driver who picked up and dropped off clients whose homes are close to the therapy site. The main activities carried out by YPK therapists are: blood pressure measurement, infrared therapy, tens therapy, hand and foot muscle exercises, and movement exercises, adapted for the specific needs of individual clients.
In the first 4 months of 2023, we have served 33 clients, with a total of 106 client visits, with an average of 11 clients served each week.
We are very happy with our achievements so far this year, in the knowledge that our services will have positive impacts on the health of those people with disability issues, and their families, in East Bali. •
