In addition to academic lessons, I have also gained valuable experience in the different techniques of creating bamboo crafts with weekly hands-on classes since July 2024 from EBPP professional bamboo artisans. For the past few months, my school friends and I have created various works, such as balanced dragonflies, stationery holders, and wall clocks. Now, we are taking on a new challenge: making bamboo chairs. I truly enjoy this process because each creation has practical value and can be used at home.
Bamboo crafting is not just a skill; it also trains precision and patience. I have learned a lot, from cutting, measuring, cleaning, making joints, to assembling bamboo into beautiful works of art. The biggest challenge is handling sharp knives carefully to achieve perfect results.
Our creations have also been showcased in various district-level art exhibitions. I hope that one day, this skill can become a business opportunity, allowing our products to be enjoyed by more people.
