Learning to farm with the EBPP team, sponsored by the CSR program of PT. Mitra Prodin, is a very valuable experience for us. We were taught how to cultivate sandy dry land to be more productive, something we didn't know much about before. In our village, there are still many lands that have not been used optimally because the agricultural methods used are still following the hereditary method without innovation.

In the organic learning garden, we learn more efficient farming techniques, from forming beds, making waterways, processing organic compost from natural materials, to planting and caring for different types of vegetables. At the end of February, we felt great happiness when we managed to harvest our first lettuce and pakcoy that we grew ourselves. This vegetable is fresher and healthier because it is grown without chemical fertilizers.

We started the planting process last December with homemade organic fertilizer from green leaves, dry leaves, and cow manure. Currently, chili, tomato, broccoli, and eggplant are still in the process of growing. Even though some pakcoy were damaged by pests, we continue to learn to find solutions so that the next harvest is more successful.

We hope to grow more vegetables and develop this sustainable farming system. Later, we want to invite people to grow organic vegetables in their own land, for better health and food security. Hopefully this garden can be an inspiration for many people.
