Literacy delays in children can be caused by various factors that affect their ability to learn to read and write, as experienced by some EBPP students aged 8 to 10 years, especially environmental and family factors, such as the role of parents in teaching their children at home. In Ban Village, many students’ parents have never studied in school due to the lack of educational facilities. For those who cannot read and write, it will certainly be difficult to teach these skills to their children.
To improve children's literacy, I provide full support to help them become more courageous and confident. The individual approach I have applied has proven to be quite successful considering that of the five students who initially struggled with literacy, two of them have shown significant improvements, such as starting to write words and simple sentences proficiently. Meanwhile, the other three students are making gradual progress in spelling.
I hope that this individual approach will also strengthen the relationship between teachers and students and maintain a positive learning environment. In addition, this approach allows me to recognize each student's learning style, thus facilitating a more effective teaching approach and maintaining students' confidence in developing the necessary skills.
