On 2 December at EBPP Daya Centre, in collaboration with our new partners, Gigi Bali Sehat, and the Dental Student Association from Udayana University we took a significant step towards promoting dental health awareness to our 47 students from Cegi, Bunga, and Pengalusan schools, about the importance of maintaining good oral health.
The participating students, divided into three groups based on their education levels (Elementary, Junior, and Senior High School), enjoyed educational sessions facilitated by teams of six dental students. The topics covered included fundamental aspects of dental health, guidance on maintaining clean and healthy living habits, and correct teeth-brushing techniques. To make the educational experience engaging, the sessions incorporated interactive elements such as games and quizzes, creating an outreach atmosphere filled with excitement. Actively participating students were rewarded with prizes, toothbrushes or toothpaste, fostering a positive and encouraging environment.
In a thoughtful conclusion to the day, the facilitators guided the students in reviewing the essential information they had acquired throughout the sessions. Encouraging them to make a commitment to uphold their dental health, this reflective moment aimed to leave a lasting impact on the participants.
The event concluded with a group photo session, capturing the smiles and camaraderie that marked the memorable moments of the day. This collaborative effort showcased the power of community-driven initiatives in fostering dental health awareness among the youth. This event not only imparted valuable knowledge but also left a positive and lasting impression on the students involved, promoting a culture of proactive dental care in the community.
