Clap hands ice breaking is a fun and effective way to help students focus and enjoy learning. This simple activity creates a cheerful atmosphere, reduces awkwardness, and boosts confidence. It also encourages students to express their thoughts, stay motivated, and engage in physical movement.

In my Student Counselling classes, this method helps students feel more comfortable, improve communication skills, and build self-confidence. It also supports their social and emotional development by teaching patience, honesty, independence, and empathy.

I usually do this ice breaking at the beginning, middle, or end of the session. If students start to feel bored, sleepy, or lose energy, I use this activity to refresh their minds and bring back their enthusiasm. One of the fun ways to play this game is by guiding students to follow instructions using clapping patterns. The teacher gives a command, and students respond accordingly: "Tepuk (clap) Pagi" means clapping once, "Tepuk Siang" means clapping twice, "Tepuk Sore" means clapping three times, and "Tepuk Malam" means staying silent. This activity helps students listen carefully and respond correctly, making it easier for them to follow instructions while keeping the classroom lively and energetic.

With clapping hands ice breaking, the classroom becomes more active, students feel more excited, and learning becomes more enjoyable!
