CELEBRATING NATIONAL TEACHERS’ DAY

By Sutami, Grade 11, EBPP Manikaji School

Annually, on 25 November, we celebrate National Teachers' Day, a special moment to show our pride and gratitude for the invaluable services and sacrifices of our teachers.

In honour of our teachers who make challenging journeys every morning, traversing steep, sandy, and dusty roads, just to make sure we get the best education, we prepared a simple surprise!

Our celebration began with a small but meaningful initiative. Students from all six EBPP schools raised funds, not big, but enough to buy cakes, and snacks. We worked together to create small decorations for a festive and fun atmosphere, in the hope that our teachers would feel appreciated for all their sacrifices.

At the height of the event, as Student Council Leader I gave a short speech to express our gratitude: "The teachers are our parents at school, they not only teach science, but also guide us to become better individuals, accompanying us from our first day of school until now; never giving up.”

My speech ended with an emotional message: "Thank you, my teachers. You are true heroes to us. Without your guidance, patience, and sacrifice, we would not have been able to continue our education as we do now. We promise to study hard, so that your efforts are not in vain.

For us, this is not just a celebration, but a reminder of how valuable the role of teachers is in our lives.

Happy National Teacher's Day! Hopefully all teachers will always have the health and strength for the next generations.
