Studying agriculture and cultivating steep dry land at Manikaji School organic learning garden is very enjoyable for me. In addition to being able to apply this knowledge to challenges I face in my own garden, I also learn practical solutions, especially in agricultural techniques. The knowledge I learned in the school's organic garden was directly applied to my own fields, starting from making solid and liquid organic compost to growing various vegetables that were provided by EBPP.
Now, my family no longer depends on chemical fertilizers during the rainy season, because we can make our own. The rainy season is an encouraging time because we can grow vegetables for family consumption. However, during the dry season, almost all plants die due to lack of water, even for daily needs we have to save and be more efficient.
Currently, the vegetable seedlings I planted are starting to grow, and I can't wait to enjoy the results with my family. In addition, thanks to support from EBPP, we also planted Mango, Sawo, and Rambutan fruit trees which are now starting to grow branches! I hope that what I apply can be sustainable, so that the surrounding community can live healthier due to better nutrition.
